Attorneys for Thomas Robertson name for decide to launch him from DOJ custody

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WFXR) – Attorneys for the fired Rocky Mount officer who was among those who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, are asking the court to release him from Department of Justice custody.
Thomas Robertson’s attorneys are calling his actions during the pre-trial phase, “mistakes” adding that he understands the weight of the charges he is facing.
This comes after law enforcement found guns inside of his home – a violation of his release.
Prosecutors say he also ordered a number of firearms online.
They are asking for the judge to keep him behind bars, saying that he is acting as if he is above the law and that home detention is not an option due to his ability to ship and receive guns at his home.
The judge has not yet issued a ruling to Robertson’s attorney’s request.
