Police investigating suspicious demise in Shirley residence

Shirley police and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office are investigating a suspicious death that authorities said occurred early Monday on Groton Road. Authorities from Shirley police and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office were at the scene. The homeowner’s brother said the homeowner’s girlfriend stopped over Monday afternoon to alert him to severe weather in the area and found a bloody scene inside.Neighbors describe the man who lived there as friendly and quiet.Crime tape surrounded the home, and investigators went door to door asking neighbors if they saw anything suspicious or if they had any surveillance cameras.Police are not identifying the homeowner as their investigation continues.”We are in the early stages of this investigation and additional information will be provided as it is available,” a spokesperson for the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office said.
